AOVO Electric Scooters - Which one is Best?

We look at three AOVO Electric Scooter models in the range and ask - Which one is best? Discover which one fits your needs and suits your personality.

AOVO have been making electric scooters for a couple of years now with a few different models in the bag. AOVO's ethos is to offer affordable and fun electric scooters for people like you or me to enjoy.

Loaded with features and modern tech, the AOVO brand goes from strength to strength.

We're going to look at three of the AOVO electric scooter models. The AOVO ES Mini, AOVO Pro M365, and the AOVO ES40.

What is an Electric Scooter?

Before we head off into the ins and outs of each AOVO electric scooter let's talk a little bit about what one is. By one, I mean an actual electric scooter.

An electric scooter is a motorized scooter that is powered by a battery. The same method as an electric bike. It's that simple. The battery delivers power to the motor and the motor propels you along.

They usually come with tons of features such as grippy tyres, dual brakes (Thank the maker!), front and rear lights, adjustable handlebars, bright LED display, and are app capable. The AOVO electric scooter range features its own app, which is available from Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Most of them have at least three different speeds. This keeps the scooter safe and steady, with slow, medium, and full speed modes. This is handy depending on where you are riding.

At the moment you're not legally allowed to ride one on a public highway. You can ride them on private land. However, the UK government is trailing hire schemes right across the UK such as Wind Mobility in Nottingham and Voi in Bristol. These schemes are being trailed over a few years to look at whether privately owned scooters are safe on the roads.

As the world is looking to make things more eco-friendly and greener, as the electric bike, you could be seeing privately owned electric scooters landing on the roads. They've extended the scooter hire schemes to May 2022. Which is great news!

So, without further ado, let's look at the AOVO Electric Scooters and discover which one is best.

AOVO ES Mini Electric Scooter

The AOVO ES Mini Electric Scooter is one of the most affordable electric scooters around. a simple machine that is perfect for the child or beginner adult. It lands with a 250-watt motor. It has a top speed of 30 Km/h regulated to 25 Km/h (For the beginner rider), with a mid-speed of 20 Km/h and a slow speed of 12 Km/h. For such a lightweight scooter this isn't bad!

Key Features:

  • 30 KMPH Speed (Regulated to 25 Km/h)
  • Up to 15 Km Range
  • 5.2 Ah Battery
  • Short Battery Charge of 3 Hours
  • Foldable to a small size
  • Electric Brakes with Lights
  • Adjustable Handlebar Height
  • Bluetooth for use with APP

Lightweight and Compact

The whole ethos of the AOVO ES Mini Electric Scooter is that it's compact and lightweight. It only weighs 8.7 Kg, which as far as electric scooters go, is incredible. Most electric scooters start around the 12 Kg mark.

Its modest battery size means it only has a range of 15 Km, so it's one for the occasional riders. However, it only takes 3 hours to get it back up to full charge. Again, for an electric scooter, this is a fast charging time.

It comes with slightly smaller tyres than a regular e-scooter. They're only 5" anti-skid ones which can make riding a little bumpier. It does have a front shock absorber to compensate for this.

The handlebars are adjustable, so if you get the AOVO ES Mini for a child, the scooter will grow as your child grows. It still has a weight allowance of up to 100 Kg, which means it can be still used as an adult.

It features a pair of brakes with lights that allow you to arrive at a safe and secure stop. It's also compatible with the AOVO app so that you can see all your ride data and details.

Should you buy the AOVO ES Mini Electric Scooter?

Its charging time is a reasonable 4 - 5 hours allowing you to charge it overnight, ready for another day of riding.

What's more, the AOVO Pro M365 comes with two brakes. A disc brake and electric brake, meaning when you need to stop, you can safely and quickly. Before releasing the throttle and whizzing off.

A bright LED light illuminates the way forward and rear red light for braking makes sure anyone behind you knows you are stopping.

It has a weight of 12 Kg, which is over 3 Kg more than the ES Mini. In saying that, it's still easy to fold it down and pick it up. It can also take a heavier rider weight of up to 120 Kg than the mini.

It has the same speed settings as both the ES Mini and Pro M365 and the same 30 Km to 35 Km range as the AOVO Pro M365. So what are the differences?

  • 7.8 AH Battery

Adjustable Handlebars

So, the AOVO ES40 arrives with adjustable handlebars. So what? Well, this means it caters for different heights of riders. The PRO M365 handlebars are fixed, which means if you're tall or short the ride won't be as comfortable.

Having adjustable handlebars means that you can get the positioning just right offering a superior and more comfortable ride. So if you're tall or shorter than the average human, then paying the extra to get a more comfortable ride is definitely worth it.

It still has a pair of decent 8.5" tyres with front and back brakes. Front and rear lights and is app capable.

The battery is smaller yet it still keeps up with the range and speed of the M365. This means the battery is more efficient and greener.
